So I'm watching this old Shirley McLane movie,...
I’m not sure I like it. There’s too much appropriation and white saviour ideas and confused ideas about old philosophers. Not to mention I really really hate the idea that everything that happens to you is your own fault. Thank you for telling me that because of things that I did in my past life it is my fault that I was raped at 6 years old. No. Fuck you.

Honestly that idea really just irks me. Maybe it’s because I have such a vivid imagination that I can see how people can come up with seemingly impossible ideas and figure out how to get them to work without extraplanetary help

I hope everyone is surviving!
After a week with my family I came down with a cold. I’m sure spending all of Boxing Day flying didn’t help out my immune system any. But  since arriving at B’s place I’ve been only getting better (with the exception of my face. I really really hate cold sores) I got a coupld cool presents, like all 8 Harry Potter DVDs in a set and the Lion King DVD. When we got here Anna...

UGH TV YOU ARE TERRIBLE
Actually terrible. 50% of the commercials are for charities that talk about how prosperous Canada is and won’t we help out those poor starving POC childrens? And then there is the Heart & Stroke foundation commercial about how Heart and stroke is the number one killer of women and ALL women ever put their family first and worry about their husband’s health. And please...

raccooncat: ethanology: garlandgrey: [Trigger warning: This blog post describes graphic imagery, touches on reproductive coercion, and includes a dude being really cruel and ignorant about trigger warnings and anxiety.] Last night the Tumblr account “Animals Talking in All Caps” posted a graphic image of a man being mauled by a bear, accompanied by text that made it seem as it the man had...

My co-worker at the library asked what I was listening to. I answered The Divine Comedy by Dante Aligheri. “Never heard of it” was the answer. I had to mentally remind myself that I should just let it go.

One day
I would like to go to a very dark spot, far from cities with their lights and look up at the night sky. I what I remember most about the 2003 black-out was spending the night looking up at the sky and just staring at all the stars there and even being able to pick out the many satellites making their way across the sky.

Wicked due to the following errors: Instead of praising God’s “greatnesse” Deuteronomy 5.24 read “And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory, and his great asse” And Exodus 20:14 read “Thou shall commit adultery”

So this article has yet to mention
That for all its beautiful imagery and iconic turns of phrase the KJV translation is actually woefully inaccurate. I once heard a saying of translation that “[sexist comment omitted]… if it is beautiful it cannot be faithful, if faithful it cannot be beautiful”
